Chapter 1: What are Morro and Lloyd's favorite fish?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - What are Morro and Lloyd's favorite fish?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Lloyd: Weeeeeellllll… Morro’s not really a fan of live fish. Something about them living in water or something.

Morro: *glares at Lloyd, his arms crossed* Hey! You try getting caught in a flash flood and then tell me you came out unaffected. *playfully shoves Lloyd off his chair and out of the camera frame* If it’s a live fish, I’d probably go with something small and colorful, like a goldfish or a betta. Now sushi, on the other hand…

Lloyd: *slowly peeks his head back into the camera frame, wearing a deadpan look* Oh boy, here we go.

Morro: *not paying attention to Lloyd* I’ll eat pretty much any fish. Unagi eel is heaven’s gift to the world, but salmon and tuna are always good fallbacks. Shrimp, octopus, yellow tail, squid, roe; it’s just so good. I really want to try pufferfish too, but I’d have to leave Ninjago to get it and I don’t know how long it’d take before someone *reaches over and musses up Lloyd’s hair; Lloyd squeaks in annoyance* died of boredom without me.

Lloyd: *back outside the camera frame; his voice comes from below the camera* I-I’d be fine! I survived while you were at college-

Morro: Just barely, but that’s another story.

Lloyd: *pops up and sits back in his chair, glaring at Morro and shoving him back* -and I’d survive again if you ever went on a trip like that. Besides, this time I have friends and...extracurricular stuff to keep me busy. Nothing like when you left the first time.

*a few moments of silence go by as they both remember a time long since passed*

Lloyd: *blinks and perks up* Anyways! Catfish.

Morro: *gives a surprised cough and scrunches his nose while side-eying his cousin* …catfish.

Lloyd: *nods his head enthusiastically* Uh huh! It’s healthy, it tastes good, and it looks so ugly!

Morro: …I don’t know where to even start with that.

Lloyd: *gives Morro a smirk* I should ask mom for some takeout from that Southern place.

Morro: It’s fried!! Who in their right mind eats fried fish?!?

Lloyd: People with good taste. *pulls out his phone* Tonight is the night you’re coming over for dinner, right?

Morro: *frantically reaches over to steal Lloyd’s phone* Oh no you don’t! *his chair tips over and he topples into Lloyd, sending them both to the ground and out of the camera frame*

*sounds of a scuffle are heard until the camera gets knocked over, cutting the scene to black*

Notes:

Okay, this was actually really fun AND really helpful! I originally was just going to answer for them, but then Lloyd interjected and lore started spilling out and it became whatever this beautiful thing is 😂

My only regret is that I have no art skills, because this played out hilariously in my head and I wish you guys could have that visual.

Chapter 2: How did Morro feel about Nya's true potential?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - How did Morro feel about Nya's true potential when (I am just assuming here) Wu told him, given this flood trauma?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Morro: Uhhh… he actually never mentioned if anyone else in the group had an elemental power. I always thought they were just some kids he picked out that he trusted to take care of Lloyd. *turns to Wu, suspicious* Is this true, old man? Does Nya have an element?

Wu: *clears his throat sheepishly* Morro, there’s something I haven’t told you…

Morro: *rolls his eyes in frustration* I knew it! There’s always something. Lemme guess: not only is Nya an elemental master, but so is Kai. Heck, while we’re at it, let’s just have Zane, Cole, and Jay all be elemental masters too!

Wu: *looks surprised, then lowers his eyes to the floor*

Morro: No freaking way. You’re serious right now? You actually said, ‘Let’s just gather a once-in-a-lifetime team of teenagers with extremely rare abilities and let them run around as ninja!’ *jumps up from his chair, his head and shoulders disappearing outside of the camera frame* Oh, but I’ll bet you haven’t told them yet that they have elements, so they should be totally fine. Let them find out on their own by accidentally burning down the city or something! That’ll go over real well.

Wu: Morro-

Morro: NO! Elements should be trained and mastered, not left to rot from ignorance! *turns and walks completely out of the camera frame* You can’t keep dictating other people’s lives like this! I’m done! Out! Bye! *the sound of a door creaking open is heard*

Telly: *from behind the camera* …um, Morro? You never answered the whole question…

Morro: *gives an annoyed sigh* Nya’s True Potential, right? What’s her element?

Wu: *hesitantly looks up in Morro’s direction*…she will be the master of water.

*a few moments of silence pass*

Morro: Oh great! That’s just wonderful. Yet another thing to add to my nightmares. Thanks, dad. *the door slams hard and Wu winces*

Wu: *breathes a heavy sigh of regret* We…are still working through things…

Notes:

Okay, this did not go at all how I expected. I was thinking Morro would start out assuring us that his fear of water had lessened over the years and that he would be able to handle it whenever she finally unlocked it, and then there would be some joking around and some lighthearted banter with Wu and Nya. …and then I started writing and Morro apparently didn’t feel like putting on that face.

I knew Morro had some issues with his dad, but this is a whole lot deeper than I was ever expecting.

Chapter 3: Could Morro merge with the wind?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - Do you think Morro achieving his true potential is strong enough to almost merge with the wind?

Chapter Text

Morro: *sighs heavily and looks into the camera* Before we get into this ask, I have to apologize for my behavior in the last one. It was a stressful day at work, and everything just kinda crashed and burned after that. *rubs a hand down his face* Yes, Wu and I have…issues that we’re still working out, but you guys don’t need that pressure of being involved, and I’m sorry.

Lloyd and Kai: *each pat one of Morro’s shoulders*

Morro: *blinks and does a double take* Kai? What are you doing here??

Kai: *shrugs nonchalantly* I was curious where you kept disappearing to the past couple days, so I just followed Lloyd in.

Lloyd: Eheheh… *sweat drops*

Morro: *gives Lloyd a suspicious look* Oooookay then…

Kai: *puts his elbows on his knees and his chin on his knuckles, looks into the camera expectantly* So, what’re we doing?

Lloyd: We’re answering asks! Random people on the internet send Telly *motions behind the camera* questions, and then whoever is mentioned in the question gets to come in here and record the answer!

Kai: So ninja! *sits up straight and bounces in his seat slightly* Who got the question this time?

Lloyd: *points to his cousin*

Morro: *sighs and unfolds a piece of paper in his hands* Ooh, this is an interesting one. Am I strong enough to almost merge with the wind? I’m not actually sure. I unlocked my True Potential back when I was thirteen, and maybe that was the closest I was to actually doing so? *looks over at Lloyd with a soft expression* To be honest, I was so worried about making sure Lloyd was safe that I didn’t even notice anything was different until after everything was said and done. I have gotten a lot better with precision and control since then, but even with my job I haven’t had the chance to really let loose and go wild in a long time.

Kai: Woah woah woah, back up. *waves his hands in the air haphazardly* What happened to Lloyd? And what’s a “true potential”?

Morro: *winces* …now’s really not a good time to answer either of those…

Kai: But- *about to push more but stops as he sees Lloyd giving him a warning look* …fine. Don’t think I’ll forget though!

Chapter 4: Did the original movie Lloyd meet Harumi?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - Did the original movie Lloyd meet Harumi?

Chapter Text

Lloyd: I don’t know what you mean by movie Lloyd, but no, I don’t think so. Unless she attended the same elementary or middle schools, I’ve never seen her at Ninjago High.

(Show) Other Lloyd: Good. The less you know of her, the better.

Lloyd: So I’ve heard. *scrunches up his face in thought* There was this one time when I was caught alone out there by the abandoned factories, but it was just a couple of thugs wanting to mess with the son of Garmadon. *shakes his head* No white-haired girl or anything.

Telly: *from behind the camera* Okay, my turn to ask a question. How are both of you here right now?

Lloyd and Other Lloyd: *look at each other simultaneously * Ummmm…

Other Lloyd: Honestly? No idea.

Lloyd: *looks at the ceiling with a sheepish grin* Weeeelllll… see, I found this little jar of gold glitter, and I opened it to get a better look, but I didn’t realize it was so fine that it would make a little puff cloud once the air got into it so I got too close and it made me sneeze. Next thing I knew he was right there.

Other Lloyd: *stares at Lloyd in amusement and mild horror*

Telly: You got into my plot dust?!?! *the sound of a metal chair squeaking back is heard* How-

*the camera gets bumped and falls over, cutting the scene to black*

Chapter 5: What is each of the Ninja's favourite rock?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - What is each of the Ninja's favourite rock?

Chapter Text

Lloyd: So, uh… *looks around at the crowded room* I guess welcome to the asks room?

Kai: *sitting on the floor, looking up at Lloyd on the chair behind him* Yeah, we really should’ve asked Telly before she went home if there are any bigger rooms set up for recording.

Zane: It is quite cozy in here, and the floor is actually rather comfortable to sit on.

Jay: *shakes his head* Nuh uh. I’ll stick with my chair, thanks. You can keep the floor.

Nya: *looks around at the others, then lets out an amused hum* Anyone else find it kinda funny that we naturally arranged ourselves in approximate age order?

Kai: Really? *looks around also* Wow, you’re right! You little tykes are all on the chairs while the big brothers are guarding the floor in front. That’s amazing that it worked out this way.

Nya: Hey! *reaches over and smacks Kai on the head* We’re only two years younger than you. If anything, you’re the little tyke compared to Morro.

Morro: *from behind the camera* Nope, you’re not dragging me into this. I’m just the cameraman. And besides, don’t you guys have a question to be answering?

Lloyd: Yup! This question asks what each of our favorite rocks are. I guess we can answer in the order we’re sitting, so from our right to left then down and right, it’ll go Jay, me, Nya, Zane, Kai, and Cole. Jay?

Jay: *bounces excitedly in his seat* Alright, my favorite rock has to be lapis lazuli. Not only is it my favorite color, but you can learn so much from it scientifically! The way the different minerals interact with each other to create the beautiful colors and patterns is just so cool!

Lloyd: Can I pick a geode as mine? I know it has a crystal inside, but the outside is still rock, right? Surely it counts.

Nya: To be honest, I’m not really a rock person. I will acknowledge that a rock exists, and that’s about it.

Zane: Halite is a fascinating mineral specimen. It is an excellent example of mathematical order and human ingenuity.

Kai: Eh, as long as it’s flat and skippable, it’s good enough for me.

Cole: *removes his headphones from one ear* Any type of black rock, especially obsidian. *pulls out a chain with an obsidian pendant from under his shirt* It reminds me of mom. *looks behind the camera* Morro, your turn.

Morro: *from behind the camera* Wha-?

Lloyd: *looks down and rereads the question* I mean, it does say “each of the Ninja,” and you are a ninja, so…

Morro: *from behind the camera; sighs then takes on a smirk in his tone* Chalk.

All the other ninja: *gasps or groans*

Cole: You did not just say that.

Nya: You take that back right now!

Jay: *starts spacing out with a haunted look* I thought we agreed never to speak of this again…

Morro: *puts his hand in front of the camera and makes a thumbs up*

Lloyd: Morro…we really need to talk about your sense of humor…

Chapter 6: What is the chalk incident?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - What is the chalk incident?

Chapter Text

Morro: *sitting in the far left chair* *smirks at the slip of paper in his hand* Oh goodie, we did get this one.

Jay: *sitting on the floor in the middle* …you’re mean…

Morro: *reaches down and noogies Jay’s head* Tough love, kid. Tough love. Now, Cole, mind starting the story for us?

Cole: *sitting in the middle chair* *sighs* Well, at home I take care of some entertainer lilies that were my mom’s, and Jay offered to help me figure out the most ideal soil for them. So we brought a bunch of dirt from her garden, along with other additives, to the warehouse to do all the testing and stuff.

Nya: *sitting in the far right chair* I was just there working on my mech, so I had nothing to do with it at this point. *nudges Jay with her foot*

Jay: Well… *fidgets with his scarf as his cheeks turn slightly pink* W-when we got everything set up and stuff… uhh, I started running tests on the soil and it turned out to be a little too acidic, so I m-made up a batch with some limestone chalk mixed in to balance the pH. Then… then, uhh… *his cheeks flush darker and he ducks his head into his scarf, turning his head back to send a pleading look to Cole*

Cole: *nods and pats Jay’s shoulder* At some point, the chalk bag got knocked over too close to the intake vent for the new air conditioner, so the next time it turned on there were clouds of chalk dust coming down from the ceiling.

Nya: I had no idea what was going on and thought it was smoke, so I ran and hit the sprinkler system. Unfortunately, when chalk gets wet, it clumps and sticks to everything.

Jay: *his whole face is red at this point and he curls up behind his knees, pulling the scarf completely over his head*

Morro: *smiling while shaking his head* Then I came in to give Banshee a tune-up, and what do I see but three teenagers looking more like wet kittens and a warehouse splattered with little clumps of white mush.

Nya: Then he just laughs at us and drives away. *glares at Morro* You could’ve at least helped hose the mechs down. Do you know how long it took us to get everything clean? We were still finding dried chalk goop weeks afterwards!

Morro: *a flash of fear fills his eyes for a second until he blinks and rolls his eyes* Alright, I get it. *puts his hands in the air* Next time I won’t leave you guys hanging.

Nya: *looks at Morro suspiciously* Hmmm…

Chapter 7: What is the ninjas favorite genre of music?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - Question for the Ninja: What is your favorite genre of music? Also, why does Cole always wear headphones and/or listen to music?

Chapter Text

Everyone: *instantly looks at Cole*

Cole: *closes his eyes and smiles a little* They’re useful.

Everyone: *waiting for Cole to explain*

Cole: *doesn’t*

Nya: …well, now that Cole has thoroughly made us all uncomfortable, I guess we start with the music tastes?

Lloyd: Might as well. I tend to like video game soundtracks, especially songs that are more techno or electronica. Sometimes I’ll go for movie or show soundtracks, but not as often.

Kai: I’m more of a rap person, personally. A little bit of rock, a little bit of dubstep, but mostly rap.

Nya: Kai and I have dubstep in common, but I’m on the trap side of rap. Sometimes I’ll go for some electronica, but I have to be in the mood for it.

Cole: My go to is usually rock or metal, but sometimes I listen to my mom’s old jazz records for nostalgia’s sake.

Jay: I mainly listen to whatever Ma and Pa have playing around the house, so a lot of folk and country. On my own time though, I really like movie soundtracks. Especially the Starfarer ones. *fiddles with his scarf* There’s just something about spacey songs that makes me happy…

Zane: I indulge in many typical normal teenager music interests, such as pop, classical, heavy metal, and techno.

Cole: Dude, your music taste ranges from emo kid to grandma.

Zane: *cheesy smile* Yes, and?

Cole: …your definition of normal teenager still needs some work.

Chapter 8: Did Wu always know that the ninja had elemental powers?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - In the movie verse fic did Wu always know that the ninja had elemental powers and which each had or did was it just huh that's a coincidence?

Chapter Text

Wu: *sighs* I knew from the moment I met each of them. There are two different ways I know of to discern an elemental master. The first and most reliable is their elemental energy itself. Every element gives off a similar energy, and with time one may hone their senses to pick up on that.

Telly: *from behind the camera* So basically you just vibe checked them?

Wu: …not exactly, but if it helps you understand, then sure, let’s go with that. The second tell is the element’s physical trait. For example, wind gives its master a green streak in his or her hair. Lightning leaves a peculiar freckle pattern on the cheeks, and green gifts its master with unnaturally bright green eyes. *strokes his beard thoughtfully* However, not all traits are readily visible, such as earth’s ability to quickly callous the hands and feet of its master. Coupled with all of the advances in cosmetic modifications, this method is not effective on its own and must be used in tandem with the first, though it can be an indicator to check for elemental energy.

Monty (Show Lloyd): *eyes sparkle with wonder* That’s actually really cool! Elements in my Ninjago don’t have anything special like that. But I do have a question: why not go ahead and tell them about their powers now? I watched the ask video about Nya’s True Potential, and Morro made a good point.

Wu: *his head dips down dejectedly, hat hiding his face* This world is a dangerous place for elemental masters, and they are not ready to protect themselves. Morro’s situation was different and I had to teach him the way of the ninja after he discovered his element, but I still worry immensely. *his hands clasp together anxiously* I would do anything to protect my son from his predecessor’s fate, and the same goes for my nephew and his friends. I refuse to lose another family member, blood or otherwise, to the world’s greed…

Chapter 9: What does each ninja think of their counterparts?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - What does each ninja think of their counterparts?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Morro: *glowers at the camera, hands clenched tight* He deserved his death, messing up Monty like that. Deserves it a million times over.

Kai: *leans over and whispers to Lloyd* Wow, I haven’t seen him this angry since, y’know, we thought you were gone…

Lloyd: *nods somberly, then looks sheepish* Okay, don’t take this the wrong way, but Monty kinda scares me. *waves his hands around in a ‘no’ motion* Not in a bad way! He’s really cool, and so, so different from me, but I think that’s why he’s scary. He’s been through so much more than I have if the story he told Morro is anything to go off of, and yet he still manages to be a great ninja, a great brother, and a great person in general. He never gave up in situations where I would have just quit. I wish I had that determination.

Morro: Don’t sell yourself short, Lloyd. You may not have had to deal with what he has, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t come out on top of your own struggles. You’re as determined as he is; after all, it takes a lot to keep defending the city after everything they do.

Lloyd: *gives a sad smile* …thanks Morro.

Zane: I, for one, am fascinated by my counterpart. Silver is not only obviously a nindroid, but he also emulates humanity to a degree that I could not hope to achieve at this point in time.

Nya: I like mine too! She’s such a boss, building all of the team’s mechs and stuff. Also she can control water, which is crazy cool.

Kai: Don’t forget the whole Sparky thing.

Nya: Oh yeah. The only thing that’s kinda weird is that she’s engaged to Other Jay- er, Sparky. Like, ew? No offense Jay, but I could never see us like that; you’re like a bro to me.

Jay: *stares dejectedly at the floor* Y-yeah, same here…

Kai: Oh man, Smithy’s so ninja! He’s got fire powers, he can do spinjitzu, and he can make weapons! A real blacksmith, not like those ones you only see at the Ye Olde Fantasy Fair. If I could do all that, I’d be the most awesome ninja ever, but I guess he can hold that title for now until I catch up.

Cole: *rolls his eyes* Good luck on those fire powers.

Kai: Heyy! You never know! Maybe I just need to fly into space and get hit by some cosmic radiation or something. Nya, help me build a spaceship!

Nya: *gives him a deadpan look*

Kai: *sticks out his bottom lip and pouts* It was just an idea…

Cole: Rocky’s great. Has some…questionable music tastes, but he likes cake as much as I do. We’re cool.

Jay: Uhmmm… I guess I also wanna be like my double someday. Sparky is so confident, never worrying if he looks stupid trying something. He just does it and it works out. H-he told me he was the first one of their team to do spinjitzu! Maybe if I hang out with him enough, I’ll be the first one here to do it too…

Nya: *snorts* Well, we all know who won’t be the first one to do it right.

Morro: *his cheeks flush a deep pink and he glares daggers at her* There’s a reason for that and you know it!

Lloyd: I mean, he was the closest out of all of us to actually performing spinjitzu proper…

Kai: Yeah, and the closest to flinging us halfway across Other Ninjago too. *holds up a hand*

Nya: *high-fives her brother*

Morro: Oh sure, laugh it up now. Just remember who’s in charge of your new training schedule.

All the ninja: *let out a collective groan*

Notes:

…I still don’t have a nickname for Show Nya 🥲

Chapter 10: Does Movie Lloyd have a hoodie like season 1 Lloyd's?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - Does Movie Lloyd have a hoodie like season 1 Lloyd's?

Chapter Text

Lloyd: Y’know, this isn’t the first time someone has referred to movie Lloyd.

Monty (Show Lloyd): Maybe it’s this person’s way of telling us apart? After all, since these questions have all been anonymous so far, it could just have been the same asker as before.

Lloyd: Could be… *wrinkles his nose with suspicion, then looks at a picture of show Lloyd’s hoodie that Telly gave him* Hmmm, I don’t think I’ve ever owned anything like this.

Monty: What, really? That was like, my only outfit until I got my gi. If that thing could talk, it’d have a lot of stories to share.

Lloyd: *shakes his head* Nope. I’ve always more of a green person, though there was this one blue jacket I used to have. It was limited edition Starfarer merch that mom got me for my birthday one year, and I wore it around the house all the time. *brows furrow sadly* …until the time I accidentally wore it to school…

Monty: Oh… *a few awkward moments of silence passed* Well, I guess it kinda makes sense though. You’ve never really met your dad and definitely never looked up to him, so you wouldn’t have any reason to want to look like him.

Lloyd: Your dad must’ve been pretty awesome then if you wore that so often.

Monty: …kinda? He was still a bad guy, but I…kinda wanted to be just like him for a while. Of course, that was before we found out I was destined to be the Green Ninja, but still.

Lloyd: *frowns* What do you mean, destined? Did you not get to pick your gi color?

Monty: *looks confused for a second before his eyes widen in understanding* You guys don’t have a prophecy about the Green Ninja here, do you.

Lloyd: I don’t think so? I mean, if we did, Morro would probably still be the Green Ninja since it was his gi first-

Monty: *jumps out of his chair* MORRO WAS THE GREEN NINJA?!?

*the camera falls over from the force*

Telly: *outside the camera shot* Man, now I have to get another stand…

*the camera shuts off, cutting the scene to black*

Chapter 11: Morro, why did you want to become the Green Ninja?

Summary:

Full ask:

KNinjagoNexoFan47391 on FFN - Morro, (if you're comfortable with this) why did you want to become the Green Ninja?

Chapter Text

Morro: *winces* Given what I know about the…other Morro, it’s a perfectly understandable question. It’s just… this is a bit of a touchy subject…

Lloyd: *looks at his cousin worriedly* You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to. The question did say only if you’re comfortable with it.

Morro: *shakes his head vehemently* No, I… I need to do this. Believe it or not, I do want to fix the burnt bridge between me and Wu. He is my dad after all. He chose to take me in when no one else did, and I understand that what he did was mainly out of protection for me, naïve and selfish though it was. *clenches his hands tight and frowns* But it’s so much easier to just stay angry at him…

Lloyd: *reaches down and retrieves a small green dragon plushie, placing it on Morro’s lap* Well, Zippy’s proud of you for wanting to make things right.

Morro: *reverently picks up the toy* …you still have him? Even after all this time?

Lloyd: Of course I do! I kept all the stuffed animals you got me. And now, *pats Zippy on the head* he gets to help you this time.

Morro: …thanks, Zippy. *looks down at the little dragon and takes a deep breath* I… actually didn’twant to become the Green Ninja. Wu started training me in the way of the ninja not long after Garmadon started attacking the city. Being a ten-year-old kid with a need for affirmation, I wanted to do everything I could to show him that I was strong enough, smart enough, and capable enough to do anything that was required of me, but I never liked fighting. One too many times of being taken advantage of because you’re the short one teaches you pretty quickly to use other means of survival.

Lloyd: *snickers softly*

Morro: Yeah, yeah, I know I’m a shrimp. *fondly rolls his eyes at his cousin* You don’t have to rub it in.

Lloyd: Sorry, it’s just funny to me that you’re always the first one to point that out. *coughs and clears his throat* Anyway. Continue.

Morro: *sighs* Wu intensified my training after I unlocked my True Potential, and when I turned 14 he let me pick my official ninja gi. I chose my favorite color of course, and I’m guessing someone *pokes Lloyd in the side, making him squirm ticklishly* still wants to be my shadow, seeing as he has that old gi now.

Lloyd: *blushes sheepishly* I-it’s a nice color, that’s all…

Morro: …I started helping him fight Garmadon as soon as Koko and Lloyd moved to their own place, and it…took a while to get used to. Even now, my fighting style still involves more stealth than he trained me for. *squeezes Zippy’s paw* But that’s when things really started to change. *takes a deep breath* …in the process of getting out and saving the city, I also…got to see what the wider world had to offer… *closes his eyes* …I can’t do this…

Lloyd: *reaches over and gives him a side hug*

Morro: *returns the hug and exhales in frustration* It shouldn’t be this hard. Why is it this hard? It’s literally just words! *groans, slumps his head onto Lloyd’s shoulder, and swears*

Lloyd: Language. *lightly pokes his cousin’s forehead*

Morro: *snorts and swipes at the offending finger* Maybe I need a therapist or something…

Chapter 12: Is movie Morro's introduction to Wu the same as show Morro's?

Summary:

Full ask:

Anonymous - Is movie Morro's introduction to Wu the same as show Morro's?

Chapter Text

Morro: I swear these askers are trying to tell us something. First Lloyd, then you *gestures to Wu*, and now me? What is this, some kind of code?

Wu: *stays uncannily silent, sipping on a cup of tea*

Morro: *side-eyes Wu suspiciously* Whatever. Well, whoever “movie Morro” and “show Morro” are, my introduction to Wu was pretty straightforward. *crossed his arms and leans back against the chair* He found me, took me in, then eventually adopted me.

Wu: *sets the teacup on a side table next to him* It was the morning of a great storm. The village near my dojo had not received much of the initial rain, but the river upstream had gotten so much that its banks could not contain it all. It ended up causing a flash flood that raged through and destroyed much of the village. I arrived just as the waters swept through the central marketplace.

Morro: When the flood came, it kinda swept me along with it before my clothes got caught on a sharp branch in a barely-standing tree. *scoffs* Ever been waterboarded by a river at seven years old? Not recommended.

Wu: I had been helping others make it to safety on the sturdier rooftops when I saw Morro in the distance, and I immediately made my way to him. It took a little while to get him to stop struggling, but eventually he was freed and I carried him back to the nearest roof.

Morro: I only let you because I recognized you. I’d swiped stuff from your market basket several times before, though I know now it’s because you let me snag what I did…

Wu: Would you have allowed me to simply give it to you? *picks up the teacup again and takes a sip to hide a small smile*

Morro: *scowls sheepishly* …n-no…

Wu: Then you cannot blame me for doing what I could to make sure a child would be fed.

Morro: …conniving old man… Anyways, he took me home and nursed me back to health, and here we are. I’m going home now.

Chapter 13: What's the age gap between Morro and Lloyd?

Summary:

thebestninja01 - Hi! What's the age gap between Morro and Lloyd the the reality check au (hope I got it right)

Chapter Text

Lloyd: Oh cool! We finally got our first non-anon asker from Tumblr! Hi back thebestninja! *reads the question* Oooooo, this is a fun one! The age gap between us?

Morro: A whole nine years. *smirks at Lloyd*

Lloyd: *holds up his pointer finger and adjusts imaginary glasses* Eight and two-thirds, actually. Your birthday is January, and mine is September.

Morro: *playfully elbows Lloyd in the side* Whatever, nerd sprout. Basically nine years. It’s a wide enough gap that I’m an adult and you’re not yet.

Lloyd: And yet I’m almost taller than you, and still have a couple more years of growing left to do. *smirks and draws a line from his head to Morro’s*

Morro: Hey! *smacks Lloyd’s hand away* You’re the shrimp in the room right now, not me. Come back when you’re Kai or Cole’s height and then we’ll talk.

Lloyd: …I don’t have that much growing left…

Morro: *smirks* Didn’t think so.

Lloyd: …but I’m sure Uncle Wu has a tea for that! *bolts up from his chair*

Morro: Don’t you dare!!! *jumps out of his chair and snags the back of Lloyd’s shirt, pulling them both to the ground and out of the camera frame*

Telly: No, guys! Please, not again-

*a scuffle is heard, and suddenly the camera falls over, cutting the scene to black*

Telly: *sighs and whispers* Let’s just hope they don’t remember the AU part of the question…
