Chapter Text
Wu: *sighs* I knew from the moment I met each of them. There are two different ways I know of to discern an elemental master. The first and most reliable is their elemental energy itself. Every element gives off a similar energy, and with time one may hone their senses to pick up on that.
Telly: *from behind the camera* So basically you just vibe checked them?
Wu: …not exactly, but if it helps you understand, then sure, let’s go with that. The second tell is the element’s physical trait. For example, wind gives its master a green streak in his or her hair. Lightning leaves a peculiar freckle pattern on the cheeks, and green gifts its master with unnaturally bright green eyes. *strokes his beard thoughtfully* However, not all traits are readily visible, such as earth’s ability to quickly callous the hands and feet of its master. Coupled with all of the advances in cosmetic modifications, this method is not effective on its own and must be used in tandem with the first, though it can be an indicator to check for elemental energy.
Monty (Show Lloyd): *eyes sparkle with wonder* That’s actually really cool! Elements in my Ninjago don’t have anything special like that. But I do have a question: why not go ahead and tell them about their powers now? I watched the ask video about Nya’s True Potential, and Morro made a good point.
Wu: *his head dips down dejectedly, hat hiding his face* This world is a dangerous place for elemental masters, and they are not ready to protect themselves. Morro’s situation was different and I had to teach him the way of the ninja after he discovered his element, but I still worry immensely. *his hands clasp together anxiously* I would do anything to protect my son from his predecessor’s fate, and the same goes for my nephew and his friends. I refuse to lose another family member, blood or otherwise, to the world’s greed…
