Summary
One day, in late August, the sun sets and does not rise again.
Seff is a wolf in the position of being rather unbothered by this development: she lives alone, she has food to last her some time, she is confident in her ability to defend herself if she must, and, if the end of the world claims her life, she didn't have much to live for beforehand.
But even on a dark, frozen Earth, she cannot stay alone for long. She meets a child, a rabbit by the name of Rohan and, without meaning to, takes her in; together they try to piece together what has happened to the world, and whether there still exists motive and means to stay alive.
