Ena knew it was sappy, but sometimes she felt as though she and Mizuki had been made for each other, as though some being up above had crafted her and Mizuki to compliment each other the same way she painstakingly planned each and every single stroke of her artworks. The way they met had been so perfectly coincidental, like the stars had aligned for them. Had Kanade’s music not been recommended to them, they never would’ve met. The algorithm must have led them there on purpose, led them to each other.
Ena believed those things wholeheartedly.
“You’re so silly sometimes,” Mizuki chuckled when Ena told her so while the two cuddled on a beam in the Empty SEKAI.
“Excuse me!?” Ena huffed, her face getting red with embarrassment. She’d bared her heart to her girlfriend only to be met with mockery.
“No, no, I believe we were made for each other, too!” Mizuki clarified, though she only laughed harder. “I mean, we worked so well together the second we met!” She leaned further into Ena’s side. Ena moved her elbow forward, trying to nudge Mizuki off.
“If you agree, then why’d you laugh?”
“Because you’re so cute,” Mizuki replied mischievously. She booped Ena on the nose playfully, making Ena go wide eyed and flushed again.
“Mi-Mizuki!!” she shrieked. Mizuki threw her head back and cackled so loudly that its echo could be heard throughout the Empty SEKAI. Ena lightly smacked her on the chest over and over, making each laugh come out warbled.
Even though the two playfully teased each other, they knew the other loved them dearly and that they really were made for each other.
