Summary
Wycliffe Haven, 1937. Beneath its glittering skyline, power wears two faces. The Wycliffe dynasty shapes the city's wealth and politics, while the Danilovs rule the North's elegant underworld and the de la Vegas hold the South through fear. Between them stands Lorelei Filipovic, a formidable businesswoman who keeps their fragile peace.
Then Cristina Wycliffe is found murdered following a lavish family gala.
The city demands justice. Prosecutor George-André Ward offers a suspect: Lorelei. For years he has tried to bring her down. Now, with evidence against her, she refuses to defend herself.
But his daughter, Evelyn, notices a flaw in the case, one small enough to dismiss, and dangerous enough to unravel everything. Determined to follow the evidence, she enters a world where enemies speak more truth than family.
Meanwhile, Bastien Wycliffe, an heir drowning in debts and expectations, struggles to survive a ruthless succession war. In the shadows, Olivier Danilov, an assassin trained never to question orders, begins to discover that some secrets are written in blood.
In Wycliffe Haven, everyone has something to hide. And somebody has killed to keep it hidden.
