Summary
To the Ton, Vicomte Adrien-Henri de Montfaucon is an eccentric French aristocrat, an artist, and a man with an inconvenient habit of avoiding society whenever he can. A chance meeting in moonlit gardens leads Benedict Bridgerton down the path of unexpected friendship, and perhaps something more, as he soon discovers there is considerably more than meets the eye to the mysterious Vicomte then his shabby coat, strange humor, and refusal to at least pretend to enjoy society.
After all, there's a reason Adrien is so reluctant to speak of France.

Summary
Before there was the Vicomte, there was the Citizen, and before all of that, there was just Adrien.
At thirteen, Adrien-Henri de Montfaucon should have been in lessons, or causing mischief with others his age. It might have been better, if he had. But fate, destiny, or whatever you may call it had other plans, and instead, Adrien enters his formative years in a nation divided by Revolution.
And that is the tragedy of it all, isn't it? The Citizen's end was always written before the boy himself knew there was a story to be told at all.
