Summary
[Wiktionary] Corposant (Noun): An electrical discharge accompanied by a corona of ionization in the surrounding atmosphere – Synonyms: Saint / St. Elmo's fire
A pragmatic mind flayer and an unusual, unpredictable captive turn out to have a lot more in common than they thought. They both have damaged cognition and memories, and they both have things to run from. They have a lot of reasons to not trust each other but neither has any better options. They manage to escape the subterranean research laboratory together but the rest of the underdark just has different problems and the overbright isn't actually better. Slow burn antagonism to partnership where one is a volatile inhuman entity and the other has tentacles.
I had JUST finished the last three chapters when the archive went down and I'm kinda mad I'm not getting to share them so here I am. Tagging BG3 b/c FR is the same universe and I know y'all freaks will like some tentacles. I do have the entire rest of the story plotted out and the spicy bit written (there's just a few unfinished chapters that happen first). Comment if you want to know how it ends in exchange for beta reading! Seriously somebody talk to me about this before I lose momentum again.

Summary
Angels and demons are beyond human comprehension. And yet, certain malfacteurs continue to meddle in the world of the living. What one first thinks is a crow may prove to be far more than a simple bird. Something far deadlier and mysterious. Something that can actively hunt and prey on humanity. Something that can serve an even higher power. Things of this nature tend to not bode well for the mortal mind. Insanity. Violence. Even death. But in His court, death is not the end. Only the beginning.
For His marquises, power comes naturally. For those that find themselves in their midst, power is a nightmare. Completely at the mercy of a being you cannot fundamentally understand. To even attempt is to shatter one's mind. Horrors of this nature can be found anywhere: One's home. The wilderness. A darkened alleyway... Or even a passive field of wheat...
