So, in the case of V ships it would be useful to tag works as "V Relationship with (character's name) as a Pivot" (referring to a tag that exists somewhere else) to make it clear who actually is in the middle, right? If I understood the changes correctly.
omg sorry, i wrote out a reply yesterday but ig it didnt send? smth weird with wifi lol.
For v ships, there's only one canonical relationship tag for the three as a v, but on individual works the hinge should be in the middle. ex: even if "V-shaped - x/y/z" is the canonical, if you have x as the hinge, you'd tag "V-shaped - y/x/z" and then I'd syn it to the canonical ship tag for the v.
It would def be useful to tag who's the hinge/pivot as a freeform, though. Tagging smth like "Hinge X" would work, and so would "V-shaped x/y/z - hinge X" or smth like that. And other language works totally fine, I'm saying hinge bc it's what tag wranglers will use for the official canonicals, but any form of signaling who the hinge is works totally fine. Ty for asking! Lmk if you have any other questions :]
