    I fully missed the 'monster romance' tag so this was not the way I expected the chapter to end, but I'm super intrigued. Also, if the secret's gonna be exposed to anyone, probably better that it's Elliot, novelist who lives on the beach, and not, well, basically any of the other villagers. The species reveal also made the orcas make a lot more sense. I was gonna accept it (after all, there's a kid raised by parrots), but it clicked a lot better knowing he was a shark boy.

    Great so far, I'm gonna be looking out for more.

      Would it be clearer if I removed the romance tag and left just monster romance? I tagged both for searching purposes, buuut there’s only two Stardew fics right now so maybe that’s not a big concern lol

        I think it's totally on me not reading close enough before opening it. If you wanted you could also add a merman or shark tag (or whatever creature sounds appropriate) to make it clearer, but I wouldn't stress about it.
