What is fanfiction.lol?
fanfiction.lol is a small, independent archive of fanworks and original works. It runs on the open-source otwarchive codebase (the same codebase that powers Archive of Our Own), but with a different philosophy and aesthetic.
Project Status
This archive is currently in early access. Registration is invite-only as we build out features and ensure stability.
What Makes Us Different
- Inclusive Archive Warnings: We've updated the archive warnings to include Systemic Oppression, Colonialism, Ableism, Homophobia/Transphobia, Racism, and Real Person Fiction (RPF) - recognizing that these are important content warnings for many readers.
- Fandom Agnostic: We welcome fan fiction in any fandom, original fiction, multimedia fanworks, and more. We're not interested in policing what you write creatively.
- Small & Independent: This is a personal project maintained by one person, not a large organization. We're here to have fun and provide a space for creativity.
Technical Setup
The archive is running on Docker with MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and Memcached. It's accessible via Cloudflare Tunnel for secure external access.
