Relationship Tagging
Relationship tags should be organized alphabetically by last name. Use specific separators to indicate the type of relationship.
Relationship Type Separators
- / for romantic or sexual relationships
- & for platonic or familial relationships
- ~ for queerplatonic relationships (QPRs)
- vs. for adversarial relationships (if users start tagging them as such)
Format Rules
- Organize alphabetically by last name
- Include all characters in the ship under the characters listed in the relationship
- You cannot mix and match relationship types in a single tag
- If it's unclear what type of relationship something is, assume it's & (platonic)
Examples
- "Harry Potter / Hermione Granger" (romantic)
- "Harry Potter & Ron Weasley" (platonic)
- "Alice ~ Bob" (QPR)
- "Smith, John vs. Doe, Jane" (adversarial)
Mixed Relationship Types
If a tag mixes relationship types (e.g., "A & B/C ~ D vs. E"), it should be treated as all characters having a platonic relationship: "A & B & C & D & E".
Past/Mentioned Relationships
If a relationship is listed as past, mentioned, implied, or similar, make that a subtag of the main relationship tag. If that doesn't exist, create the tag. Format is "[ship] - [adjective]".
Examples
- "Harry Potter / Hermione Granger - past"
- "Alice & Bob - mentioned"
- "Charlie / Dana - implied"
