Character Tagging
Character tags should include the character's full name. If a character name is common across fandoms, include the fandom in parentheses.
Format
- Use "First Name Last Name" format
- If the name isn't very unique and is only a first name, add the fandom in parentheses
- Use the name order that the culture of the media uses (e.g., Japanese anime uses Last Name First Name)
- Include nicknames in quotes
- Include aliases with a "|" separator
- Include middle names if known
- Use canonical spellings from the source material
Examples
- "Harry Potter" (unique enough)
- "Uzumaki Naruto" (Japanese name order)
- "John "Jack" Smith" (with nickname)
- "Bruce Wayne | Batman" (with alias)
- "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" (with middle name)
Mentioned Characters
If a character is listed as mentioned or similar, make that a subtag of the larger character tag. If the character only exists as mentioned, create a tag so you can do so. Format should be "[name] - mentioned."
Original Characters
Metatag each OC tag as the closest versions. For example, "original Female dinosaur character(s)" would go under both "original Female Character(s)" and "original dinosaur character(s)." Always end with "(s)".
