Chapter Text

Seth

The benefit of being well-known in the city and having a long history of government connections was that it was relatively easy for Horus to get the dojo cleaned up, and to keep things quiet. The humans apparently thought some sort of appliance someone was testing in the lobby had exploded, causing most of the destruction, and construction would begin as soon as possible to restore the area.

It unfortunately meant that Seth’s classes were cancelled for a while, which bothered Seth. He missed the kids, and knew that the time was important for them. And he knew Osiris was to blame for ruining yet another thing in his life that he cared about.

And as he watched Horus chat with different people, trying to get things done, he realized that no matter how far he got from Duat, things wouldn’t end. Most gods who saw Osiris going after Seth would believe it was deserved, or blame Seth for it. No one would be on the lookout, and Osiris could come back, with more dangerous forces. People could be hurt.

Seth had to be proactive and get things done himself. And… much as he hated it, there weren’t many options for how to deal with that.

They were back at the apartment, in Horus’ office, while Horus made phone calls and emails. But at one point, when Horus breathed in deeply and said he was going to update Maat on things, Seth stopped him and said, “I need to talk to Maat as well.”

“I’m not sure how good an idea that will be,” Horus said, looking up at him. Horus had a spare chair for Seth to sit in, but Seth had been too antsy, and just walked around while Horus worked. “I can smooth things over with her pretty easily, but—"

“That’s not what I mean,” Seth said, gazing down at Horus. “It’s time Maat knew what happened the night Osiris killed himself. And on the sun boat. And…” He swallowed. “If we can convince Nephthys to testify, as well, Maat should know about the mirror, too.” He thought Nephthys would agree to it. She seemed to follow his lead on this, now that he was back and they were talking again. She’d messaged him while he was standing around, and noted she’d heard about what happened and wanted to see if he was okay.

He'd said he was fine, but that he wanted to talk in person soon. And he hadn’t shared more detail yet. He didn’t feel it was appropriate to talk about it over text. This required an in-person discussion.

"If we can convince more gods to be on guard around him," Seth said, "or even to make sure he stays in Duat and has less reason to come up here... Things would be better." He hoped, anyway.

Horus gazed up at him in surprise. “You’re… sure you want to talk about all that?”

Seth nodded. “I have to. I don’t know if he can make more pawns like Kuentamen, or what else he has in store. While I was on the sun boat, he never tried that. He always came himself to attack and try to pull me off the boat, or kill me.”

“…Every night?” Horus asked, with alarm in his eyes.

Seth nodded, “Every night. Some nights I wasn’t on watch, but… Yes. The other gods complained about it. They said Osiris was obsessive and annoying.” He found himself smiling. “Though it actually made them more likely to attack him to get the stupid song and dance over with. The faster we were away from him, the better.” He honestly assumed they’d be happier with him off the sun boat: Osiris would have no reason to bother them anymore.

It was another reason Bastet’s visit was so odd, given the other gods missed him. But Bastet never brought it up as an issue.

“But as the ruler of Duat,” Horus began, “surely the other gods would have found it odd he was so hostile to the sun boat’s passage?”

“Some of them wrote it off as Osiris bringing up old grudges,” Seth replied. “Ra and Osiris were enemies for a long time, after all. Given Ra was then sheltering one of Osiris’ enemies, me, Osiris would have even more reason to attack her in anger. As if whatever agreement they came to after Osiris took the throne in Heliopolis was ended, by Ra’s actions.”

“They thought he had the right to it?” Horus asked, surprised.

“Not exactly,” Seth replied. “But they could understand why he was doing it.” Discussing their enemies had been one of the more regular topics on the sun boat, and how to deal with them in future battles. For instance, a particular god’s armor might attract one particular underwater enemy, who could spot them, so that god might be moved or assigned work at a different time, after they’d passed where the enemy usually swam, thus avoiding a conflict. But for Osiris, that wasn’t possible: giving Seth up wasn’t something Ra was willing or able to do.

He'd asked her once, and she’d grinned at him. “All those years you and your siblings fought me, and all that effort I put into the trial and your sentencing, and you expect me to give you up just like that? For shame.” And then she’d sighed and said, “Plus, Maat would come after me, and that would be so annoying.”

Seth had reasoned she liked her toys too much to give them up to Osiris. After all she’d lost to Osiris, it was one of the few victories she could have. Though she never really helped much during battles, unless things grew dire.

“He’s escalating now,” Seth said, gazing into Horus’ blue eyes. “He needs a way to reach me here. And given what I know of him, the longer time passes, the more desperate he’ll get. The more dangerous he’ll get. And… I can’t let that happen. There are things that I want to protect.” They’d been lucky that most of the dojo had been empty when Kuentamen arrived. But Seth suspected Osiris didn’t care about bystander injuries, and that such luck might fail them in future.

Not to mention Osiris clearly didn’t care about either of his sons.

Seth reached out to grab Horus’ left shoulder, squeezing it. He refused to see Osiris hurt either Anubis again or come after Horus. Horus was particularly in danger as the person Seth was with, just like Nephthys had fallen into harm’s way. Seth knew Horus could handle himself but…

Horus reached up and rested his right hand over Seth’s. He smiled, warmly. “You’re going to protect me?”

Seth scoffed and said, “It’s my job. Of course.”

Horus grinned and replied, “Well, I feel safer, then.” And he looked so ridiculous that of course Seth had to lead down to kiss him.

Horus pulled Seth into his lap, making the chair squeak. His right hand went to the back of Seth’s head, wrapped in Seth’s hair.

Seth’s chest pressed against Horus’, his left thigh resting on Horus’ lap, while their mouths pressed against each other. Seth could also feel Horus’ cock already hardening beneath his pants.

Seth pulled away and muttered, “Already?” He was used to Horus getting hard in an instant, really, just from being around Seth, but…

In a way it was flattering that Seth could bring a man like Horus to his knees so easily. Certainly, Seth hadn’t been lying when he’d said Horus was better in bed: Horus had demonstrated that to great effect, and in being together, they’d learned a lot more about each other, and what they wanted. It was nice.

“Mmm,” Horus replied, reaching out to mouth Seth’s right ear.

“Weren’t you insisting we get stuff with Maat cleared up as fast as possible or something?” Seth asked, jokingly. His left hand moved down to Horus’ dick, pressing on it in a way he knew would bother the younger god. “We don’t really have time for this.” But that wasn’t going to stop him teasing Horus.

Horus moved back a little gaze down at him. His blue eyes were even brighter than usual, and it seemed like all his centuries of age were present there, power stretching back through time to crush a weaker god.

Well, Seth was older, and he just smirked back, unfazed. He realized he was probably still smarting from the fight and needed something to clear the excess energy out, but he also knew Horus didn’t mind. So he pressed his hand again, squeezing Horus’ cock.

Horus breathed in deeply and picked Seth up, making Seth reach out to grab him. Horus then placed Seth down onto the desk, which knocked over a number of items. He reached out to yank down Seth’s shorts, while Seth moved back and lifted his ass up to make it a bit easier. The elastic still clung to his skin as it moved, but Seth didn’t care.

Seth’s back prickled with the papers he was lying on top of, but he didn’t care. He cared about how Horus was undoing his own pants and shoving them down, revealing his cock, and stepping forward between Seth’s legs. But rather than just pushing inside, Horus leaned over Seth for another kiss, and let his hands rest on Seth’s hips. A warm print of ownership.

Seth murmured contentedly into the warmth of Horus’ mouth, and reached up to wrap his arms around Horus’ neck, pulling him close. His right hand rested on soft, dark hair.

Horus maintained the kiss while moving his right hand back to lift Seth’s left thigh, his fingers gliding down Seth’s skin. He pressed two fingers inside Seth so easily now, and Seth pushed forward on the fingers, rutting against them, wanting them deeper inside.

Horus growled against him before pulling the fingers out and returning with his cock, pushing inside Seth quickly and easily.

Seth wrapped his arms around Horus’ back, pulling him deeper. His nose was filled with Horus’ scent, and the air was full of the sound of the desk creaking beneath them, flesh slapping flesh as Horus slowly thrust back and forth, and their moans and grunts. It was a contrast to the difficult decision Seth was making: to talk to Maat, to finally get everything out. He didn’t want to imagine sharing more of what he’d been through to more gods. He didn’t expect good reactions, even if they agreed Osiris needed to be dealt with on some level.

He wasn’t sure what he’d accomplish: could he really win people over to his side after everything that had happened? It was one thing for Horus to win good opinion, when Horus was beloved already. And it was another for the few gods Seth was close with to come around after seeing evidence of Osiris’ other crimes. But Seth was the evil god of chaos. And Osiris was beloved. Wouldn’t people just think he deserved it, after everything he’d done?

Horus broke the kiss to press his cheek against Seth’s as he slowly increased his pace. “I have you. I have you.”

Seth wanted to laugh, and felt his eyes heat up as he pressed up into Horus’ thrusts even harder, needing release. Where Horus would hold him at the end and make sure Seth remembered that he was supported by at least one god who loved him, truly. A god who’d stood by his side even when Seth didn’t know he was there. Who helped Seth find things that made his own life better.

I can do it if he’s with me, Seth thought as he felt Horus’ cock dick so deep inside him, sending waves of pleasure through Seth’s body, and making him moan loudly into the office. He’d been able to leave the sun boat with Horus’ help, and they’d worked together this far. If Seth needed encouragement, then…

Horus grabbed Seth’s cock, pumping hard to bring him to climax, too, and Seth pressed his fingers into Horus’ back, almost hissing as he pressed against the edge of release.

He can’t have you, Seth thought before he came with a shout. You’re mine.
