Work Text:

In the before times of 1999 Len and Fukase performed a coup d'état on the government of the USA killing all members of congress and the president.

They successfully overthrew the government but the people weren’t happy and they started rioting and the U.N did something no one saw coming. They did something and declared Len and Fukase illegitimate leaders of the USA but did nothing to stop them out of fear they would be nuked.

That made the riots way worse and it seemed like Len and Fukase’s power would lose by the will of the people but both of them had an idea to kill the rioters.

The police and the army began mowing down the people with guns and all you can hear in the distance are screams as people.

They decide to start bombing the rioters killing millions in the streets.

All you can see in the distance is just blood and bodies, and rubble from the guns and the bombs.

When Len and Fukase think the riots aren’t too big they order a purge.

The purge killed military leaders, government officials and the people who they thought would rebel. They brought them out on the streets and shot them. Any military official who refused was shot on the spot.

Fukase and Len made a deal with the UN they would hand their nukes in and the UN would not invade or deal with any decisions made in the country.

Meanwhile in the present day (At least while writing this):
Everything is clean, the roads are clean, the houses are clean, not a single speck of dust can be found anywhere.

All people who hated Len and Fukase are killed without a second thought and all people who go against them are killed.

Many people try their best to flee the country but many fail and get shot on the spot. Pretty much if you are a part of the military you can get away with a lot, not everything but a lot more than the average person.

Meanwhile people are brainwashed and all love Len and Fukase.

As Len and Fukase go to the UN for their meeting with all the other countries. As they both take a seat in there both they sit down and get ready to listen.

As Miku stands up to speak (representing Britain) she says “The USA has committed various war crimes that are horrible. I am here to argue that there should be a sanction on the USA for war crimes.”

As Len stands up to speak (representing the USA) he says “We have not committed any war crimes since the revolution and ending a horrible government, since then we haven’t committed any war crimes.”

As Miku gets back up and states “Do you want us to list the war crimes that your country under your leadership has committed recently?”

As Len gets back up and states “Sure, we would love to hear the non-existent war crimes that we have committed.”

As Miku gets up she states all of their war crimes “1. You would torture people. 2. You attacked schools, hospitals and other protected places. 3. You staved the people who were trying to revolt. 4. You misused protect emblems for deception. 5. You used chemical weapons. 6. You caused unnecessary suffering by using poison bullets and many other illegal forms of suffering. 7. You faked surrender.”

As Len gets up and he rebuts “That is incorrect but even so have you asked the ICC to launch an investigation.

Miku responds “No, we haven’t asked the ICC to launch an investigation.”

Len gets up and responds “So on what grounds are these sanctions coming from you just don’t like us. You and me both know that isn’t a proper reason.”

Rin gets up (as she is the speaker) “As much as we all might hate to admit it the USA has a point you can’t just sanction a country because you don’t like them so, Britain unless you can get the ICC to launch an investigation and declare them guilty there is nothing we can do. Anyway, does anyone have any other news to bring or is that it?”

…

Rin declares “Ok when this UN meeting is over.”

Meanwhile Britain and 80 different countries launched a complaint to get at least an investigation launched into them and the ICC opened an investigation.

One of the Fukase’s advisors come in “Hey so, the ICC officially decided to investigate and they found a lot”

“What did they find?” Fukase asks, a bit scared about what they might hear.

“They found you guilty of genocide, crimes against humanity such as extermination, enslavement, deportation, torture and ‘other inhumane acts’. Fukase’s advisor says.

“Is that it?” Fukase asks.

“No, there is more.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“How much more?” Fukase says.

“A lot more there is, attacks on civilian objects, misusing emblems, using biological weapons, using starvation as a tool for war, cruel treatment of people not in the war and executions without due process.

“Is that all?” Fukase says.

“Yes, that is all.” Fukase’s advisor says scared.

“Ok, find the best lawyer and start changing those things we are being accused of temporarily and get ready for a war if necessary.” Fukase commands.

“Ok, I will go and tell Len.” Fukase’s advisor says.

[After Fukase’s advisor tells Len about the situation]

Len walks into Fukase’s bedroom.

“Hi Len, you ok?” Fukase says.

“What are we going to do if they declare us guilty of war crimes?” Len says super scared.

“We fight to the death.” Fukase says with centrality.

“And if we lose they will add more crimes to our list.” Len says panicking.

“That’s unlikely, they won’t have time since we will be executed by hanging or getting a life sentence.” Fukase says knowing what will happen.

“That's worse than getting a life sentence.” Len says.

“We can escape and live in Iceland or Argentina.” Fukase says, trying to calm Len down.

“And get caught there?” Len says panicking more.

“Ok, the longer we think about this the more we panic. There is nothing we can do.” Fukase says.

“Thats the thing that is scary.” Len says.

As Fukase’s advisor walks in and asks “Hey, so some new news.”

“Go on.” Fukase says trusting his advisor to have taken care of everything.

“The ICC has given you two options.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“What are they?” Fukase says not knowing what to expect.

“You can either appear in person or appear online.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“I think we should appear online.” Len says.

“I agree, how many of the things have you done?” Fukase says.

“I have found the best law team that can help you and I just sent messages to military officers to stop committing war crimes.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“What about preparing this country for war just in case they attack?” Fukase says.

“I don’t believe that would solve anything, it might actually make things a bit worse.” Fukase’s advisor says advising Fukase.

“How would it make things worse?” Len says a bit confused.

“They might think we are preparing for war or we might invade.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“So, how do we make sure they don’t invade?” Len says still a bit scared.

“They will more likely give us a month to hand ourselves in before they will invade and kill us.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“Can’t we just nuke them?” Len says knowing if they lose their country will be taken over.

“We don’t have any, we gave them away when we took over so they wouldn’t invade.” Fukase reminds him of.

“Ok you two need some sleep.” Fukase’s advisor says.

“Ok.” Len says as both of them go to sleep.

[TIME SKIP TO THE ICC COURT CASE]

“We are here to figure out if Len and Fukase have committed war crimes against the people of their country." Rin says (as she is the judge of the case).

“The crimes the defendant has been charged with are: 1. Genocide 40 counts. 2. Crimes against humanity such as extermination 300 counts. 3. Enslavement 40,000 counts. 4. Deportation 20,000 counts. 5. Torture 300,000 counts. 6. ‘Other inhumane acts’ 9,000,000 counts. 7. Attacks on civilian objects 50,000 counts. 8. Misusing emblems 60,000 counts. 9. Using biological weapons 90,000 counts. 10. Using starvation as a tool for war 70,000 counts. 11. Cruel treatment of people not in the war 30 counts. 12. executions without due process 50,000,000 counts.” Rin says explain the horror that the people committed.

“There is overwhelming evidence that proves these two have committed war crimes.” Vflower says (as she is the prosecutor).

“Most if not all of that evidence is irrelevant.” Gumi says (as she is the defendant's lawyer).

Vflower plays many videos and shows documents of Len and Fukase ordering many war crimes.

“While they are ordering war crimes, there is no evidence that these were ever actually done.” Gumi says making up a defense on the spot.

“Congrats, you have just justified every threat someone has given.” Vflower says making a good point.

“And in this case these threats could be used and taken seriously also there is evidence that these war crimes were committed.” Vflower adds another good point.

“Ok, but these were never carried out so therefore there would only be jail time” Gumi says fumbling again.

“Are you stating that your defendant should go to jail because there is no evidence tying them to these crimes.” Vflower says.

“Given the evidence I believe we should take a break and do a little thinking so our team can think of the next move.” Gumi says.

“I’ll allow it.” Rin says knowing that Gumi is going to lose.

As Gumi leaves the courtroom to speak to Len and Fukase who are even more scared.

“So I believe they have way more evidence and they will more likely get you executed.” Gumi says.

“But if you take a deal you could get 20 years in prison instead of dying.” Gumi adds.

“So what do you think?” Gumi says.

“What happens to the country when we get jailed?” Len asks.

“Someone else would rule, you likely wouldn’t get to choose.” Gumi answers.

“Keep on fighting.” Fukase says and Len nods in agreement.

As Gumi goes back to the courtroom and the case gets redone.

“Are you giving up?” Vflower says being snarky knowing she will win.

“No, my clients will keep on fighting.” Gumi says knowing she will lose and probably be killed.

“Ok, Vflower you shall continue giving evidence.” Rin says trying to stay neutral even though she knows who will win.

Vflower shows way more evidence connecting Fukase and Len to the war crimes.

At the end of the day Rin gives her verdict.

“I find the defendant Kagamine Len guilty of Genocide with 10 counts, Crimes against humanity 100 counts, Enslavement 5,000 counts, Deportation 10,000 counts, Torture 200,000 counts, ‘Other inhumane acts’ 5,000,000 counts, Attacks on civilian objects 20,000 counts, Misusing emblems 30,000 counts, Using biological weapons 20,000 counts, Using starvation as a tool for war 10,000 counts, Cruel treatment of people not in the war 0 counts, executions without due process 40,000,000 counts.” Rin says convicting Len.

“The punishment is to be executed by hanging.” Rin says.

“I find the defendant Fukase guilty of Genocide with 20 counts, Crimes against humanity 200 counts, Enslavement 10,000 counts, Deportation 20,000 counts, Torture 10,000 counts, ‘Other inhumane acts’ 4,000,000 counts, Attacks on civilian objects 50,000 counts, Misusing emblems 10,000 counts, Using biological weapons 70,000 counts, Using starvation as a tool for war 20,000 counts, Cruel treatment of people not in the war 1 count, executions without due process 50,000,000 counts.” Rin says convicting Fukase.

“The punishment is to be executed by hanging.” Rin says.

“Both Len and Fukase are to hand themselves in on this day 4 months over, this offer as you can guess is super generous considering you would usually hand yourself over in 1 month.” Rin says.

“If you do not show the UN will have to get involved and will declare war.” Rin adds.

“This should close a chapter of history.” Rin finishes with.
