Chapter Text
I do not own any of these characters.
"I got to say it and it's hard for me. You got me crying like I thought I would never be. Love is believing, but you let me down. How can I love you when you ain't around."
First, he told her she wasn't family. After everything they went through, she's not family. She felt stupid, used, and foolish for believing that this was ever going to be more than playing house and super nanny. Even though she loves his little boy like he is her own, she knows that she has to move on with her life. After all, she now has a baby of her own to think about.
If there's one thing she won't be, it's a scapegoat. She knew the life was dangerous and she was all in with full disclosure because after 11 miserable years, she thought their love could overcome the lies, the cheating, the violence and his history.
Well, his life put her and Abel in the crosshairs; watching Kip get murdered while barely escaping with her own life was something she would never forget. She would never apologize for surviving. If she had fought, the Irishman would have killed her. She survived Kohn, and would be damned if an insane Irish terrorist ends up being the death of her.
Then the deal breaker happened. Gemma told her to, "be the constant." No, if there one thing she won't be, it's put through the wringer every time he feels the need to deal with their problems by falling in bed with the nearest available warm and willing body. On that note, she also gets a full panel STD test done just to rule out any high-traffic zone issues his wayward dick may have been exposed to.
She then heads to Jax's house to pack a bag and head back to her childhood home, remembering what her father told her before she left for college. "Don't apologize to him for getting an education. If you have to leave to do that, then go. If he can't understand that, it's his problem, not yours." She's tired of trying to hold onto him.
She is relieved that she didn't sell the house when she moved in with Jax. Her father told her never to sell it because it would be her home base. He didn't leave her much money; his alcoholism drank that up, but he was a good father.
After her mom died, he coped with Jack Daniels and Jameson. He drank but made sure she had a roof over her head, food to eat, and encouraged her to work hard and go to college. His intervention when she was running wild with Jax and getting arrested helped her leave Charming.
Jax shows up while she's packing her bag and has the audacity to tell her that he didn't want to hurt her and that she doesn't have to leave right away because he's packing ans leaving for Ireland with the MC to find Abel. "Really asshole? I just found you in bed with a walking STD. You're lucky I don't key your bike and bitch slap you into next week."
The prince isn't going to get his way this time and for this last time at her expense. No, she's beyond the scorned woman stage at this point. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on down the road.
Singing songs from The Wiz reminds her that she is long overdue for a night in the couch, a date with Ben and Jerry's, and watching her collection of musicals. Gigi seems oddly appropriate.
