It's not very often these days either of you find yourselves available to chat. Which is why when you do, you both go out of your way to make it into a whole special thing.
Ms. Paint pours you a cup of tea, and asks you if you've heard about the recent news regarding the Naive Handmaid and the Stoic Dreamer. You tell her you haven't, and she responds by stirring in a couple of cubes of sugar whilst informing you of their recent engagement.
You smile, and tell her how happy you are to hear that Can Town will finally be having it's first official wedding. She smiles bashfully while she hands you your cup, and thats when the glitter of a very expensive-looking ring catches your eye.
She knows that you've noticed, and holds out her hand for you to take and properly inspect. It's a very well-crafted ring, not cheap by any means. You suppose if there's one thing you know about Spades Slick, is that he doesn't half-ass anything, especially when it comes to Ms. Paint. It's for that reason you, despite your previous reservations about the man, can confidently and sincerely give Ms. Paint an earnest congratulations.
You ask her where Slick got the ring, and she responds by telling you she doesn't think PM or AR would appreciate them having the same ring as Spades Slick's fiancee. You blush, and quip back that you're just making sure he got the ring legally. She tells you she's at least 80% sure it was aquired legally. Somewhat legally, she clarifies.
Once your laughter has died down, you go to stand and give her a proper hug. You feel your shoulder getting damp as let her know that if she needs anything, all she has to do is ask. She thanks you, and tells you that even though she and Slick are still working out the details of the wedding, she knows she wants you to be apart of it.
You tell her your honored, and you are. To be apart of your best friends wedding, even if that wedding includes an alternate-universe Jack Noir is something you'd never thought you'd be able to have, even in your wildest of dreams.
You both settle back down, and dry your eyes as you start telling a story about your most recent encounter with the Surly Dancer.
